Background Information: Character Information post

I will be summing up her long history in her app. You can find more detailed information in the respective sections. You can find out more about her background in the About & Games section. This section is more focused on her than it is in her world setting. You can find more detailed information about her home in the World Setting section. In regards to her About, I did include her time in Deerington. For Songerein, I’m bringing her in from her original canon over making her a CRAU from Deerington. You can ignore everything after β€œIt’s Time to Wake Up” because that is the Deerington section. (Unless you want to read through it.) I just felt it was good to note & save you the time.

⋆ Mirai was born as a Mahou, naturally blessed with a talent for magical abilities.
⋆ Cadavers seemed to come from nowhere and had no signs of stopping anytime soon.
⋆ As a child, she grew up in a loving, supportive household.
⋆ Melandrach began to show signs of eradication years before its ultimate end.
⋆ When Cadavers began killing people indiscriminately, Mirai was only 9.
⋆ In time food became scarce.
⋆ Mirai noticed her parents struggling to get by, often putting Mirai over themselves.
⋆ She wanted to do anything she could to help lighten that burden for them.
⋆ When crops were failing, she did her best to use her magic to help grow harvest and bring what she could home for her own family.
⋆ She pushed herself at times as the demand for her help became more commonplace.
⋆ She refused to be a burden to anyone.
⋆ Eventually, her parents were killed in a struggle to protect her from the inevitable Cadaver attack.
⋆ By some luck, her uncle had come to check on them and found her in time.
⋆ Though she was still young, she had seen what was going on around her.
⋆ Over the years, she began to understand the situation better.
⋆ After the death of her parents, she went between custody of various relatives.
⋆ Each one saw the same fate.
⋆ Some of her family were supportive of her while others thought of her as a cursed child.
⋆ It didn't take too long for Mirai to be all alone in a dying world.
⋆ All of her family were either killed by hunger or injuries.
⋆ Death became normalized and she started to long for answers to help save them all
⋆ Mirai decided that feeling sad did her no good and chose to instead focus on what she could still do instead.
⋆ She began to cling onto whoever was still alive and dear to her, afraid to lose them too.
⋆ She denied the outcome of Melandrach and the people around her for as long as possible
⋆ She no longer worried about her own needs to protect everyone else.
⋆ Life started to be scarce and she felt more and more alone by the day.
⋆ She became desperate for a solution and started to work herself tirelessly to find a way to save the few who were still alive and her world.
⋆ With Melandrach on its dying legs, Mirai was at her wit's end despite trying her best to fight on
⋆ One of the portals caused by Denestvian technology showed up in her world, causing her to fall into it.

Personality: I intend to focus on the parts of Mirai’s personality that are more important. You can find a more detailed explanation listed in her Character Information post under the Personality section.

⋆ Mirai is a small girl with a bright personality.
⋆ She's usually full of energy and tries to think about the bright side of things over the negatives.
⋆ Because hope is the fuel for her magic and her abilities, she tries her best not to stay positive.
⋆ it's too painful for her to think about all of the negative things going on in her life.
⋆ She wants to bring happiness to those around her.
⋆ She'll stop at nothing to make others feel better.
⋆ She's selfless and compassionate.
⋆ She puts others before herself, no matter how bad off she is in any given circumstance.
⋆ Because she’s seen a lot of people die around her, she just wants to ensure that they're safe and in good spirits.
⋆ She loves to make new friends and doesn't take long to warm up to someone.
⋆ She does come off as awkward at times due to the lack of socialization these days.
⋆ She's a very determined person in all aspects of life.
⋆ Once she puts her mind to something, she will do everything in her power to keep her word and carry out what she set out to do. Sometimes to a fault.
⋆ Witnessing the deaths of her family and friends over the years caused a lot of anxiety.
⋆ Underneath that warm and bubbly personality of hers, she's actually very lonely.
⋆ She’s afraid that she'll end up all alone to deal with everything by herself.
⋆ A lot of the times, she hides her real feelings behind fake smiles.
⋆ Feeling responsible for her world is enough to wear her down.
⋆ It's also the cause of her stubbornness and her tendency to push herself too hard.
⋆ She knows her limits, but selflessness can also be a bad thing.
⋆ She thinks so little of herself to focus all of her attention to care about everyone else around her.
⋆ She will willingly put herself in danger if it means it will save people.
⋆ It doesn't matter if you're a friend or a stranger. If you're in danger and need help, she will be there to help out however she can.
⋆ Any injury, not matter how big or small it is, will worry her. She will prioritize that above all else.
⋆ She's a ticking time bomb in every sense of the word.
⋆ There's something internally wrong with her.
⋆ Hope is what fuels a Mahou.
⋆ At any given moment, the moment that Mirai acknowledges that her world is gone or that there's nothing she can do, she's sure to crumble.
⋆ Mirai is desperate to believe that everything will work out okay.

Abilities & Inventory:

Incredible power;
The Mahous in Melandrach does not have Mana Drives, so Mirai has no filter to regulate how much mana she can use. Having no limit to her mana usage can be a negative thing and is very easy to overdo. She has nothing keeping her from using her full potential. Her magic is usually pretty strong but comes at a hefty cost.

Simply put, her magic has more potency and power than an average Mahou from Denestvia. With it -- if not kept in check -- could cause more widespread destruction. Her magic has quite a bit of power, but it's not necessary for Songerein. I intend to nerf it a little. It would still be pretty powerful, but not overwhelmingly so.

Ticking Time Bomb;
As noted above, she has no way to de-active her Mahou state and is constantly in it. Simple things don't cost much mana or strain her much, but there is no way to conserve energy and mana how a normal Mahou can. As a result, her life force slowly drains and will normally l result in early death. Long story short, she's slowly dying because of this and is unaware of it herself at this time.

However, during her time in Songerein, her life force won’t drain over time. Instead, she’ll be more prone to experience nightmares. The more Strain she attunes over time, the more likely she’ll need assistance on leaving nightmares when they happen.

Physical Strain;
Although this is not exactly an ability or skill, it is still incredibly important to mention and relevant to her condition. A Mahou theoretically has a limitless amount of mana so long as they stay driven in whatever gives them hope. Prolonged use of excessive mana will lead to Strain. You can heal physical wounds, but no amount of healing with recover the fatigue and discomfort caused by Strain. The only way to recover is to allow yourself to rest and not use any further magic.

Enhanced Strength & Endurance;
Mahous are more powerful and durable than an average human. They have the endurance to survive injuries that could kill most people and faster regenerative abilities. If a Mahou so wanted, they could probably blow up skyscrapers with their immense powers.

Mirai has no interest in using her abilities this way, but the added strength does have its perks from time to time. She would prefer to focus on supporting others (between healing injuries and keeping them in tip-top shape). Because of this, she does come off as weaker in terms of power than most Mahou. That suits her just fine because she's not interested in using her magic as a show of strength. I intend on nerfing her strength a little where it's not superhuman but still stronger than an average human.

Natural Aptitude;
Although most Mahou specializes in a few things that drive their desires, it is also possible to learn new abilities and become adept at them. She is not incapable of learning different spells or abilities. Much like an average human, she can only get better at new magic if she puts in the time and practice. It's one thing to learn a new trick, but it's another thing to use it well. To realistically use a new ability to its fullest potential, she has to practice it enough to master it.

Mirai will also have decent control over dreamotion energy thanks to her aptitude for magic. She won’t necessarily learn how to use it right away and may take time, but as long as she doesn’t push herself into Overdrive or accumulate too much strain, she’ll have a decent pool of dreamotion energy to harness.

Energy Projection;
If Mirai wanted, she could manifest her mana in a solid-state. Her mana can be focused into the form of a ball. By doing so, her mana can become a weapon itself, but raw power like that is not advisable to attempt. It is extremely dangerous to use her magic like this. It takes way too much energy from a Mahou to use that kind of force. It has incredible power to it, but not something the Mirai has ever cared about in the first place. It should only be seen as a very last-ditch effort when all else fails if there are no other options.

Mirai is not likely to use this tactic but is fully capable if she ever has to. If she ever has to resort to this trick, she is not likely to have the best control over it because she has not attempted it before. I don’t foresee her pushing herself hard enough to use this ability. She would have to be in an extremely desperate situation to consider using it. More than likely, she will probably not even use it.

Healing;
What Mirai desires the most is to save her world and those around her. It isn't a surprise that one of her specialties is the ability to heal up any wounds and broken bones. She's also capable of faster recovery from injuries, but that's mostly tied to her being a Mahou. Her healing abilities are pretty impressive, but they do not extend to resurrection. Unfortunately, no matter how powerful she is, she cannot bring back the dead.

Nature Element;
Mirai also specializes in nature as an element. This draws on her desire to save her world. Her world has been barren of plant life and fauna for years. Although her spells are generally nature-based, the blight of Melandrach far exceeds what she can do. There is no way to renew the earth because the decay is much stronger and faster than she can undo. There are various ways as to how she could use this, although most defensive.

Barriers;
She can create a barrier using sturdy vines. It would take a lot to break through these vines. Powerful or not, she's not invincible. If she's in a weakened state, her barrier will still hold strong, but not for very long. At most, it would give her a chance to get away from danger and offer a distraction before it inevitably falls. The more extensive the barrier it is, the more mana it takes. It can take on many forms and is applied based on what is necessary at the time.

Growth;
As I briefly stated in the Nature Element section, she's capable of regrowth of the land, and that in itself can be used in a variety of ways. For a time, she tried to help the earth rejuvenate itself to bring both plant and crop life to fruition, but the blight was much stronger than anything that she could manage.

In a setting outside of her homeworld, she is versatile in magic, allowing her to do several things. A few examples include speeding up a flower's process to blossom, summoning a massive amount of vines from the ground to create barriers (see above), or restraining one's moments. She can also undo the process (of her magic) if she needs to. It also allows her to reach other locations. Mirai can use her natural affinity to reach certain areas that are generally not easily accessible. Whether she uses it to lift her to higher ground or using plant life to climb up hard-to-reach areas, it is also a means of mobility.

Offense;
Although her primary focus is to support others, she can just as easily use her magic offensively if need be. Her vines are sharp enough that they could pierce through a person for the sole purpose of offense. With a combination of growth and an offensive stance, she could use this to her advantage to fight back. Even though it can be used offensively, Mirai will always opt to use it defensively instead.

Overdrive;
Mana Drives exist to regulate mana usage. As we know now, Mirai does not have one. It is much easier for her to push herself so far that she goes into Overdrive.

Overdrive gives a burst of extra power that normally isn't as palpable, but it does cause more harm to the Mahou who uses it. Naturally, this goes hand in hand with Strain. Push Overdrive more than you should, and a Mahou can suffer from long-term damage. It is possible to permanently burn out their use of magic or even kill them if they're not careful.

Inventory;
Mirai does not have a lot of belongings. The only items that she’ll have available to her at the time of arrival will be her staff & clothing/accessories on her back. Her clothing and physical state will be worse for wear after a long fight but get by until she can find more options.

Suitability & Plans: Mirai could do well in a setting like Songerein. Where emotions and dreams play a major role, the emotions that she tries to hide for the sake of everyone else’s safety and happiness would be difficult for her to avoid here. All she wants is to keep everyone safe after losing so many people back home. She buries so many emotions because she believes that what she wants or feels is unimportant when it comes down to what needs to be done for the people still alive around her and her world. The fairy tale aspect of it also fits her well. Her magic is based on the general concept of life after watching her world die around her. She would be more than happy to help rebuilt and make Songerein a beautiful and safe place to stay.

This would be a great opportunity for her to really open up to people instead of keeping everything to herself. There are so many experiences that Mirai has been unable to experience for herself. I would love to give her an opportunity to have a better life than her homeworld, even if it’s for an unknown amount of time. Maybe it would give her the chance to really act like a semi-normal teenager for a change. She’ll be very curious about exploring the area and helping out however she can. She won’t be all that dependent on castmates (due to the lack of people left alive back home), but she’ll naturally treasure all of the people she meets here and the memories that are made.
